Our story begins 4 years ago from an idea and concept developed by my mother in-law Joie. After searching South Florida week after week, month after month driving down every boulevard, and state road we finally found the doggone best location that we feel could best serve our great food to south Florida!
Seth Lowenstein Owner/Executive Chef
Chef Seth brings to Hot Dog Central nearly three decades of culinary experience. He has acted as Executive Chef at the finest of restaurants in both New York City and South Florida. Most recently, Chef Seth opened the popular South Beach restaurant, Clarke’s American Grill. Thanks to Chef Seth’s delicious menu items and inventive presentation, Clarke’s has come to be a neighborhood favorite in the brief time since its opening in 2005. Prior to joining Clarke’s American Grille, Chef Seth Lowenstein worked at New York City's premier seafood restaurant, City Crab & Seafood Company for ten years. He began his tenure at City Crab as Chef de Cuisine and was promoted after just two years to the coveted position of Executive Chef. In both roles, Chef Seth was instrumental in diversifying the menu and restructuring the kitchen to better serve the 325-seat establishment. Under his leadership, City Crab experienced a three-point increase in the Zagat food rating and was voted "Best Soft Shell Crabs in NYC" by the 2003 New York Press Reader's Poll. In July 2002, Chef Seth was honored by cooking alongside nationally acclaimed chef and longtime friend, Allen Susser, to present a six course dinner at the world renowned James Beard House. The following year, his talents were again recognized while presenting a tasting at the Thirteenth Annual James Beard Foundation Awards. Throughout his successful career, Chef Seth has worked with several noted restaurateurs throughout New York, Philadelphia and Miami; developing strong relationships while honing an eclectic repertoire of culinary skills. He trained at the world-famous Culinary Institute of America and was Head Chef at the renowned Blue Willow Restaurant in New York City for eight years. Chef Seth is thrilled to be back in South Florida where he began his successful career. Early in his career, he worked at several Miami landmarks, such as the Fontainebleau Hilton, Turnberry Isle Yacht and Raquet club and the Intercontinental Hotel and Spa. Most recently, Chef Seth spearheaded the catering for the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 NASDAQ-100 Tennis Open at Key Biscayne, Florida. In this role, he was responsible for managing the food ordering and distribution for all events throughout the two-week event, which served an approximate 250 thousand people. Chef Seth’s vast array of culinary talents brings to life the spirit of Hot Dog Central. He is thrilled to bring the fun side of his creative energy to all of his patrons! Happy eating!
